So Long September!

September has flown by. It has been one heck of a month, so I wanted to do a quick recap of everything that has happened + a few things that I’m loving currently. First, we kicked it off by spending the weekend at Edisto Island with family, which is always relaxing. Then along came Hurricane Dorian…

… thankfully, Dorian didn’t do much damage to our area (luckily the eye stayed offshore), but we had several days of lounging around the house, watching a LOT of Game of Thrones.

The next weekend, Ryan headed off to Denver for a Bachelor Party, and I hosted my first blogger event at Loft on King St in downtown Charleston. It was so much fun to shop with all these great ladies, plus a few more who aren’t pictured below. Afterwards, a group of my friends and I enjoyed supper at 82 Queen, a Charleston restaurant that has been around for years, and it was delicious!

And after that… things went a little downhill! Poppy got sick after we fed her a treat that didn’t agree with her, and it threw her poor little GI system for a serious loop. Ryan was out of town, and I was exhausted by the time I picked him up at the airport. It has taken nearly two weeks, but I think we’re finally getting her back to normal (two vet visits and some antibiotics later). I’m keeping my fingers crossed. On top of all that, my office has been a little short-staffed for the last couple weeks, so I’ve been working long days with no lunch breaks. Suffice it to say, September has kicked my butt, but I’m heading into October with positivity and optimism. It’s gonna be a good month. I can feel it!

I’m also excited because Ryan and I are really about to dive into house-hunting and start trying to find the place we’ll spend the next chapters of our lives together. I’m eager to find the perfect place… and also nervous to take on a 30-year mortgage! But it’s always fun to start planning and dreaming about something as exciting as owning (and getting to decorate) our own home.

Before we officially reach October, though, I wanted to do a quick round-up of some things I’m loving so far this Fall. First up are these Loft jeans:

I honestly never thought I’d buy a pair of jeans that wasn’t American Eagle, but I LOVE these. They come in regular and curvy sizes, and I’m obsessed. I’ve worn them so many times already, and they’re definitely a closet staple for me now. I love that they’re already cropped for me because I love cropped jeans with booties in the Fall and Winter.

I’m also in love with this Loft dress. It’s comfortable and perfect for an afternoon wedding or a date night. It’s available in Plus & Petite sizes.

I’ve also been on the search for a good Fall hat that would fit my rather large head, and I finally found one at Target a few weeks back. It’s super cute, and if your head is a little bigger like mine, this would be great for you!

I’ve also started using new makeup products lately that I love: L’Oreal BB Cream and Revlon Creme Eyeshadow. I used to use the BB Cream, but just recently picked it up again.  I love how light it is on my skin. And the Cream eyeshadow really surprised me because it doesn’t crease! Plus, I feel like it’s much more dramatic for a night out!

In my last blog post, I shared about Rocksbox, the jewelry subscription box I’ve partnered with. I love trying new pieces of jewelry, and if you’d like to try your first month free, you can use my code “peachesandpalmettosxoxo” at checkout! Let me know what you think! It’s so, so easy!

One other thing I’m loving this Fall is Angie’s Boom Chika Pop Candy Corn flavored Kettle Corn. It’s seasonal, but if you come across it at the store, be sure to try it. It’s like crack, and you won’t be able to eat just one handful.

I’m afraid I haven’t done much reading this month, so I don’t have any recommendations for you right now, but I promise I’ll have some next month. I’ve got a number of books lined up to read in Oct, and I can’t wait to bring y’all some reviews.

That’s all I’ve got for y’all today. I also want to say thanks for bearing with me through this “dry spell” of blog posts. I promise I am working on more posts for y’all, but I would LOVE to hear what YOU would like to see, so drop a comment below and let me know what you would like to see more about this Fall on Peaches & Palmettos.

Bye for now,

Emma
