Maybe February 14th is approaching and you’re not sure where to dine, what to wear, or what to buy for your loved one… Don’t worry. I’ve got plenty of suggestions for you!
If you’re not concerned about spending a little more to celebrate the day of Cupid, then go ahead and make reservations at a nice restaurant. Valentine’s Day is supposed to be special, so find a special place—maybe somewhere that you and your significant other went a long time ago or maybe somewhere that both of you love. Go ahead and make your reservation now!
I think it’s so important to keep any Valentine’s Day festivities free of electronics. Yes, you’ll want to take some photos, especially if you get all dressed up, but put those phones away when you’re done. Talk to each other! Talk about the future, talk about your dreams and exciting upcoming plans for things you want to do together! Don’t discuss the mundane things (like needing to buy more toilet paper or whose turn it is to unload the dishwasher).
Now, what should you wear for your fancy night out? I LOVE a good red dress, and I picked this one up from LOFT, and I love the way it looks and feels! There are so many different shoes and jewelry combinations that you can pair it with, too. I chose pearls and a nude heel (last season from Old Navy).
So you’ve got the restaurant and the outfit… now what about a gift? I’ll be honest with you—I have the most difficult time shopping for Ryan. Unless Ryan’s going to use a gift every day or at least several times a week, I won’t get it for him. Grilling sets, cologne (particular Aqua di Gio by Armani), and funky socks are always good ideas. For Christmas, I gave Ryan a 4-pack of the Tile Mates so that he’ll never lose his keys or wallet again! He has already used them a lot!
I hope these ideas help and that you’re already looking for a place to make reservations. Please let me know if you have any ideas about gifts because I am ALWAYS looking for ideas!
