How is it already February? I can’t believe we’re already 1/12 of the way through with the year! I wanted to do a January round-up, but I lost track of time, so I’ve decided to share my February plans with you.
What I’ll Be Reading: Y’all know I’m trying to read 50 books this year, and I just started Beach Music by Pat Conroy. I also want to read Sharp Objects, A Court of Mist & Fury, Where The Crawdads Sing, and a couple of other books.
What I’ll Be Watching: Ryan and I are WAY behind on Outlander (at least 5-6 episodes), so we need to catch up on that. I also want to finish watching Dirty John. We recorded it when it came on TV a month or so ago, and I just haven’t finished watching it. I also want to watch the rest of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. I’ve been watching an episode here and there, and Ryan and I have already gotten rid of a LOT of stuff. Well, it’s currently in boxes in my car trunk, waiting for me to take it all to Goodwill.
What I’ll Be Listening To: I just finished listening to the “Dr. Death” podcast, and lemme tell ya—it’s was terrifying. But, I highly recommend you listen to it. It really makes a long drive go by quickly. I also want to continue listening to the “Goal Digger Podcast” by one of my favorite bloggers, Jenna Kutcher. Her podcasts are so motivational for anyone trying to start a business, market something, or simply become an entrepreneur. My writing friend Rebecca Sampson also has the “Happy Write Now” podcast, and I’m several episodes behind, so I need to catch up.
What I’ll Be Writing: Blog posts, obviously! And I’m also excited to stay that I have started writing a NEW BOOK! I’m working on my first draft, and I’m really excited to see how it turns out. I’m also having my first book, The Lights Out Club edited, and I’m planning to self-publish by May. I’m also working to find a cover artist now, which is a very unknown part of the process.
What I’ll Be Cooking: Ryan and I may have finished the Whole 30, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop eating/cooking Whole 30. We actually had sugar for the first time this weekend (picked up a couple cookies from the best bakery in town) to see how it affected us. And y’all… after ONE COOKIE, I feel so bloated! It’s crazy!
I do want us to find some new Whole 30 recipes so that we can mix up the variety a little bit, though. I’m sure there are plenty more out there. But, tonight’s Super Bowl Sunday, and we will be having The Defined Dish’s Loaded Sweet Potato Fries. I literally crave them now.
Where I’ll Be Shopping Well, I don’t need to shop any for a while. I just bought some new jeans from American Eagle (gosh, I’ve missed their denim), and I’m loving my Aerie underwear. I also love Versona for accessories and jewelry (see my blue purse below).
Where I’ll Be Traveling: We aren’t traveling anywhere this month, but we do leave on March 1 for a long weekend in Baton Rouge/New Orleans. Ryan’s old college roommate and one of our good friends (the man responsible for helping me pass college calculus) is getting married, and we’re making a vacation out of our trip to Louisiana. I can’t wait to try Beignets and walk down Bourbon St!
What We’ll Be Doing for Valentine’s Day: I guess Ryan and I really should talk about this, huh? I do know that this coming weekend, we’re going to a really famous restaurant (Husk) with our friends Ben & Katelyn. And I do want to go to a special event that Middleton Plantation is having in their gardens… something about a Chocolate Walk through the gardens. Although, after the recent sugar I had, I’m not sure I want to eat any chocolate.
