Getting My Groove Back

Can you believe that we’re already halfway through January?? It blows my mind. Time flies by, especially when you’re busy, and we have been busy!

During the first half of January, I’ve spent a lot of time searching for my motivation and praying for it to return. Sure enough, it did. In full force.

Since then, I’ve been making lots of plans and developing new strategies on how I want to reach my goals and achieve my dreams. In that planning phase, I made some decisions regarding my blog, and I want to share those with you.

When I first started my blog, I was determined to work hard and promote local restaurants and businesses that we enjoy. I hoped that I could become a well-known Charleston blogger, but that didn’t happen, and I became discouraged. (I told myself I wasn’t expecting this to be happen, but I had this daydream that I would magically become a popular local blogger).

I’ve been blogging for six months, and at the beginning of January, I told Ryan I didn’t think I’d continue writing it after the one-year mark (I promised myself I’d blog for a year). But then, something inside me changed. I found my drive and my motivation again, and I’ve decided to shoot for the stars again.

I’ve done a lot of planning for this blog in the last couple weeks, and I’m determined to make these next six months really count. I have so much I want to say, and this blog is a channel for me to communicate my voice to the world.

Intentional. I want each post to be intentional (including the photos), and not rushed, which happens whenever I feel like I have to write something quickly. For me, this means planning out posts and taking photos IN ADVANCE. Yes, that’s right. We’re going to start shooting INTENTIONAL photos for the blog, because I think that’s part of what makes a blog enjoyable—great photos. Luckily, I married a photographer!

In these next six months, I plan to work hard, plan hard, and blog hard. I’m going to set myself goals, and if I’ve met those goals in six months, I’ll keep going.

So look out, 2019. Here I come!
